Eric Holliday’s Government Reform policies focus on restoring trust, ensuring fairness in elections, and enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in New Jersey’s government.

Public trust will be restored by prioritizing transparency and accountability across all levels of government. Speaking with the community about government transparency, it is evident that OPRA was very necessary to hold our governments accountable. The public outcry over the changes that have made it nearly impossible for residents to acquire vital information is a great concern to the community. Eric Holliday is in support of restoring OPRA.

Another way to enhance transparency is to address corruption through robust campaign finance reforms, stronger ethics laws, and abolishing outdated systems undermining democracy. Eric Holliday supports all the efforts made by Andy Kim to bar the county line. We have watched how some current members of the legislature have attempted to supercede this ruling by creating a committee to create policies around restoring it. If elected, Eric Holliday will ensure the county line election system will be eliminated to promote fair and inclusive elections based on candidate merits rather than party influence.

Campaign finance and pay-to-play reforms will limit the impact of special interests and close loopholes in financing regulations. Term limits and conflict of interest laws will prevent career politicians from misusing their positions and ensure political chairs focus on public service and fresh ideas.

Transparency efforts will include making government records accessible, updating financial disclosure forms, and strengthening lobbying regulations. Voting rights will be expanded with easier voter registration, ranked-choice voting, and standardized candidate petition procedures. Centralized election management will enhance efficiency.

Public participation in budgeting will empower citizens to decide how community funds are allocated. Municipal elections will be moved to November to cut costs and boost turnout. Loopholes enabling phantom candidates and outside group manipulation will be closed to ensure election fairness.

Finally, government services will be streamlined by merging overlapping functions, restructuring agencies, and encouraging municipal or county shared services to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
